The World Championship of Tennis Journalists have been successfully organized continuously since 1978, with one exception in 2020 due to the global pandemic situation.
This years event will take place between 21st and 24th of September.
The World Championship of Tennis Journalists will take place in the same location as last year. A beautiful Croatian city of Poreč.
We hereby take the liberty of addressing you with an event organized by the International Association of Tennis Journalists AITJ. The World Championship of Tennis Journalists have been successfully organized continuously since 1978, with one exception in 2020 due to the global pandemic situation.
Eligibility:
Entry is open to all journalists – tennis players from any European country with accommodation booked through CK Zemek (travel agency)
Location:
The Tournament is hosted at Zelena Laguna Poreč, a leisure resort with 18 tennis courts located just 200 metres from your accommodation.
Format of play:
The Tournament will comply with the ITF Guidelines. All matches will be the best-of-three sets – the first player or Doubles team to win two sets is declared the winner of the match, with a tie break at 6/6 – one-off game held to decide the winner of a set when two players are locked at the above score. For the Men over 75, Women over 60 and all Doubles categories, the third set will be played as a SUPER TIEBREAK to 10 points.

Seeding will be assigned based on performances in previous editions of the Tournament
Note:
Should any category receive fewer than 8 entries, a round-robin system will be used – each participant plays against all other participants – or the nearest two categories will be merged into one.

These matches will be held within the designated Singles categories and are reserved exclusively for entrants eliminated in the qualifying rounds or the first round.

Doubles draw:
Doubles entries are to be submitted in person by Monday, 22 September 2025, before 06:00 p.m. The categorisation will be finalised by the Tournament management at the event, depending on the number of entries.

Join our PÉTANQUE tournament (a game with balls) available for both playing and non-playing guests. Teams of two can sign up on site until Monday, 22nd September, before 07:00 p.m. All guests are encouraged to participate!
Delight your taste buds with an Istrian wine tasting at the Matoševič, Arman or Poleti vineyards. Sign-ups and payments can be done on site.
The prices listed in the Propositions are prices for 1 person. If you are interested in staying in a room alone, an additional 50% of the price will be charged.
I recommend contacting another person for shared accommodation in the room. Please also indicate the name of the person who will be accommodated in the shared room on the application form.

Six nights of half-board accommodation starting with dinner on 21 September and concluding with breakfast on 27 September. Included in the fee are all spa charges, registration fees, travel agency bankruptcy insurance and full-week management services for both playing and non-playing guests.
Adjustments to the standard six-day stay are available upon negotiation and must be prearranged with Ing. Zemek!

We offer you the opportunity to represent your brand during the World Championship using full scope of marketing and advertising methods available. Each partner will recieve the relevant data regarding the implementation of their marketing materials, and use of their support after the event´s end.
Contracts will be drawn up on the basis of agreed conditions between the AITJ representative and the event partner. The amount of support will be determined by agreement of the contracting parties.
Of course, event partnerships are also possible at the national level, mainly to ensure participation in the event, i.e. transport and accommodation costs, clothing and equipment for individual expeditions, or payment of the tournament entry fee for the expedition, etc.
All national marketing activities will be communicated with the organizing committee of the championship in order to avoid accidental non-fulfillment of the agreed conditions of marketing support.
Teams that will be supported by advertising partners have the opportunity to participate also for these partners under the same conditions as stated in the previous information.
All other possibilities of cooperation or activities related to the World Championship will be discussed after agreement with the organizers.
